Avalanche News, Games 9 and 10

2015-12-10

by Head Coach Andrew Brewer

The Blue Door Bistro Avalanche played a pair of games this weekend, the first game on Saturday, December 5th saw the Avalanche face off against the Golden Wok Flames.  The Avs started the game quickly with Kaden Hryciw scoring a pair of goals in the first period, which was followed up by Pacey Whitehead netting one early in the second, before Kaden recorded the hat trick (his second of the season) and finished with four goals in total.  Assists went to Tim Kasstan and Cole Brewer with a pair.

But besides offense the Avalanche also played well defensively and had some key saves throughout the game once again from goaltender Jonathan Everett who picked up his first shutout of the season with a 5-0 victory and was also the Blue Door Bistro Avalanche's Hardest Working Player against the flames.

On Sunday, December 6th, the Blue Door Bistro Avalanche took on another strong opponent, this time facing off against the first place Can-OP Kings.  The teams went back and forth but could not score until mid way through the third when the Kings found the back of the net and were able to hold on with numerous Avalanche chances within the last shift for the 1-0 victory.

The Blue Door Bistro Avalanche's Hardest Working Player was Cole Lambert who played a strong game, working hard each and every shift.

The Avalanche next hit the ice for a team practice on Friday, December 11th from 6-7pm at Delany Arena before another pair of games on Saturday, December 12th at 5pm at the FWG against the Investors Group Leafs and Sunday, December 13th at 1pm at the FWG against the Petrie's Cycle & Sports Wild.

Go Avalanche Go!
