New by Jim FergusonA good weekend for the Flames winning both games and the Ron Cup. Saturday's game was 2-0. The goal scorers were Josh Philip #5 and Ethan Asselstine #13 scoring the empty netter, good job Ethan you fired the puck just in time to avoid an Avalanche. Sunday's game was 4-0 Josh Philip #5 was on his horse and scored 2 goals, Christian McCuaig #16 and ( I never give up #12 Jason Pham) were the other goal scorers. I think the whole team played really hard, Ryan managed 2 shutouts and he told me he never did it alone, he had a good team in front of him. Saturday's game was especially exciting mainly because of the great job the first liners did on #9 of the Avalanche, they really did win the game. If you look at our previous games #9 basically won the games for the Avalanche, the first liners slowed him down, beat him on the face-offs, and generally did not give him much room to operate. This week the “C”s go to Coach Wenzell, Coach McGinnis, Coach McWhirter, and Coach Costa.
